For the second round of the Defender Challenge, the competitors headed to Dolgellau, Wales.
After passing through scrutineering on Friday the competitors headed to the hotel for a group meal and drinks before the start on Saturday morning. The following day, the competitors jumped into their Defenders and headed off one by one to the start ramp. Ed Cobley led from the get go with Christian Femont chasing, eager to beat him after finishing 2nd at the Mid Wales Rally.
After the first couple of stages Team Sturgess had taken an early lead with Teams Femont, Palmer and Northern Ireland battling for the other podium positions.
