Having enjoyed the adventure of extreme off road racing and competition for over three decades with Bowler designed and manufactured legendary cars, Bowler’s factory team heads to Morocco for its first race of 2018 to support five Bowler Bulldog competing customers with a full racing service and support package.
The week long endurance race covers 2300km and sports a new format for 2018, including two desert bivouacs and a marathon stage for the first time. The route for each day takes in up to 400km, ninety five percent being off road, and crosses three impressive canyons, the Atlas Mountains and a vista of sand dunes.
Bowler’s five supported Bulldog car competing crews, consisting of driver and navigator, will be out of contact with the team as they tackle the challenging stages, making this a true test of man and machine.
The Bowler Bulldog is the first of the marque’s cars to be based on the company’s all new patented Cross Sector Platform (CSP). This revolutionary rolling chassis has been developed over the last three years in a project backed by the UK Government, offering a multi-use vehicle platform which can be utilised for a range of vehicle applications including on road, off road, emergency response, defence and protection, filming, utility and exploration.
Bowler also utilises its extensive expertise to offer Driver Training and ‘Arrive and Drive’ packages for those who would like to compete in a Rally Raid race, but prefer not to purchase a car of their own. Competing with Bowler as part of the factory team, be it as an owner driver or arrive and drive entrant, provides the best opportunity to fulfil your off road adventure ambitions and reach the finish safely with the best experience possible.
The Bowler factory team will be supporting competitors in a further four Rally Raid events this year including:
– Morocco Desert Challenge in April
– Baja Aragon, Spain in July
– Rallye du Maroc, Morocco in October
– Africa Eco Race starting in Monte Carlo and ending in Dakar, Senegal, in December
Andrew Chester, Bowler’s Racing Manager commented, “We’re looking forward to our first race of the year, both to provide our five Bowler Bulldog competitors with a great service and experience but also to further put our new Cross Sector Platform through its paces. The new format of the Tuareg Rally should be interesting and this is a race which really can be won or lost on navigation so the partnership between driver and navigator is critical.”
